CBSE has implemented 3years of pre schooling to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which mandates 3 years of preschool before starting primary education. Age criteria for these classes-
Preschool 1 3-4 years
Preschool 2 4-5 years
Preschool 3 5-6 years
Preschool education is the education imparted to children in 3-6 years age group. The overarching aim of preschool education is providing strong foundation for all round development and life long learning. It is preparing the child for school and hence the first stage of organized education.
In the light of emerging needs and new developments in preschool education the curriculum followed is holistic, developmentally appropriate, indigenous and most importantly play and activity based.
