Teacher's Creed

Mar Thoma Senior Secondary School, Kozhencherry

As a teacher of MTSSS, KZY, I believe that:

  • Teaching is more than a job, more than a profession, it is a vocation.
  • My calling as a teacher is of supreme importance in shaping of the presented external destiny of main kind.
  • Without daily prayer for patience, strength and guidance for God, I cannot hope to fulfill my high calling.
  • Each of my students is entrusted to me by God. If I don't give individual attention to each one of them, I will be unfaithful to God.
  • I should be guilty of grave in justice, if I discriminate my student based on caste, color, creed or social status.
  • If I reproach a student for the lack of intelligence, I should be reproaching the creator who created him/her.
  • A teacher must be a living model, a friend and a guide that the student can trust and follow.
  • My students shall pass through my classes but once. Therefore if there is anything that I can do to help them lead a useful life, I should not delay it, nor neglect it, for they shall not pass my way again.
  • I should be doing injustice to myself and my students, if I do not make adequate preparation for every class.
  • A teacher must be open to charges, imbibe the best and pass it on to students.
